June 27, 2025 (Minneapolis) — The Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA) welcomes Jessica Klander as the association’s 107th president. Klander’s year-long term begins July 1, 2025.  

“It is an honor to serve as President of the Hennepin County Bar Association,” said Klander. “In the year ahead, I am committed to fostering a stronger sense of community within our profession. The HCBA plays a vital role in providing a space for lawyers to convene, connect, and collaborate—and I look forward to building on that foundation to provide spaces for members to learn from each other and feel supported and engaged.” 

Klander, a shareholder and the chief operating officer at Bassford Remele, has been an active member of the HCBA for over 10 years, and a member of the association’s board of directors since 2022.  

Klander’s practice focuses on defending lawyers, financial entities, healthcare providers, and other organizations against consumer financial protection claims and malpractice and professional liability claims. A graduate of Macalester College and William Mitchell Law School (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law), she clerked as an intern for Hon. Thomas Knapp of the 7th Judicial District and an extern for Magistrate Judge Franklin Noel of the U.S. District Court of Minnesota. She is admitted to argue in the 7th, 8th and 11th Court of Appeals circuits and several districts of U.S. District Court. She is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, and North Dakota.  

For the 2025-2026 bar year, Norman Pentelovitch (President-Elect), Nicholas Ryan (Treasurer), Ryan McCarthy (Secretary), and m boulette (Past President) will serve alongside Klander on the HCBA executive committee. Jacob Levine will serve a one-year term as New Lawyers Section representative for the committee. Cheryl Dalby serves as the CEO of the Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, and Ramsey County Bar Association.  

The Hennepin County Bar Association is a professional association representing nearly 8,000 area attorneys and law students with a wide variety of programming and services for the community and the profession. The association strives to ensure the fairness and accessibility of the legal system by promoting public understanding and confidence in our system of justice and by working along with the courts to improve the administration of justice.
