The Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA), Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA), and Ramsey County Bar Association (RCBA) filed an amicus curiae brief in federal court this week in support of the plaintiffs—the State of Minnesota, the City of Minneapolis, and the City of Saint Paul—in a lawsuit involving the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Maya Missaghi began her year-long term as president of the Ramsey County Bar Association on July 1, 2025. "I am honored to step into the role of Bar President for this year,” Missaghi said. “While I have no grand visions for my tenure, ‘keep calm and carry on’ comes to mind, which to me means continuing the great work and programs we have in place, remaining nimble and curious to the creative solutions an unexpected set of events may require, and doing my best to showcase how wonderfully diverse and quirky our local legal community is—and hopefully we can all have some fun along the way."
