The largest practices areas are estate and elder law planning, civil litigation, family law, and class action litigation.
Training Provided
Chestnut Cambronne’s attorneys individually commit to pro bono projects, including work with veterans. The firm also has is involved with the Innocence Project. The firm first participated in the HCBA Minority Clerkship program seven years ago. In addition, many of the firm’s attorneys are active members of nonprofit, community, and faith organizations. Many of its attorneys also serve in leadership roles in these organizations throughout the Twin Cities.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Chestnut Cambronne continues to expand its commitment to diversity by participating in this HCBA program and believes its attorneys and staff should reflect the firm’s clients and community in general. The firm has established a DEBI committee. Moreover, of the firm’s fifteen female attorneys, eight are partners and two are shareholders, and one is African American. Two of the firm’s male partners, including the managing partner, are gay. One of the firm's female partners is lesbian. The firm also has staff from the Asian, African American, Latin American, Native American, and LGBTQ communities. The firm believes the future calls for expanded representation of diverse communities. The firm also has a strong connection with the Vietnamese community in the Twin Cities.
Summer Clerkship Description
Attorneys in the firm provide projects to and involve law clerks in their cases so law clerks are exposed to multiple aspects of the legal profession and practice areas. Assignments will initially be coordinated with the managing partner, but eventually assignments will come from the common pool of projects handled by the firm’s law clerks depending on availability and complexity.

Summer Clerkship Salary & Benefits
The HCBA law clerk is paid $33 per hour. No other benefits are paid for hourly, part-time temporary employees.
