George R. Serdar recognized with 2025 Professional Excellence Award

George R. Serdar has been selected as this year's recipient of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Professional Excellence Award. The award recognizes attorneys who exemplify the highest standards of professional service, leadership, and community engagement. Serdar is a longtime leader at Messerli Kramer, where he served as a shareholder, chair of the litigation group, and now of-counsel. Nominators commented on his legal skill, ethical integrity, and dedication to mentoring the next generation of lawyers.

“George is the kind of lawyer that other lawyers aspire to become—a trusted advisor, skilled practitioner, ethical steward, and mentor to so many both within his firm and across the profession,” said one nominator. “He doesn’t just help attorneys follow the Rules of Professional Conduct—he helps them internalize those values and live them out in daily practice.” In addition to his internal leadership roles, Serdar has served the broader legal community through active involvement in the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar Associations, including as vice chair of the HCBA’s Professionalism and Ethics Section.
