The Minnesota State Bar Association is deeply troubled by recent violent actions taken by ICE in Minnesota. We recognize that these events have caused fear and harm, particularly for some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and raise serious concerns about civil liberties and the fair administration of justice.
The MSBA is working with our partners in the legal community to develop an effective and timely response. We also encourage members to consider offering their time or resources in support of those affected. Opportunities may include drafting habeas petitions, serving as legal observers, or representing individuals in immigration matters.
We remain committed to the rule of law, access to justice, and the protection of fundamental rights, and we will continue to keep members informed as this work moves forward.
