June 29, 2026 (Minneapolis) — Following its last Assembly meeting of the bar fiscal year on June 25, 2026, the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) announced the composition of its 2026–2027 Executive Committee.
On July 1, Kenya Bodden begins his one-year term as president of the MSBA. Bodden, a legal risk manager at Amazon, earned his JD at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2001. In his 25-year legal career, Bodden has previously been a partner at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP, and worked at Larson-King LLP, among other Minnesota firms as a litigation attorney. Bodden previously served as the 2022–2023 President of the Ramsey County Bar Association.
"I just want to assist our lawyers and our membership, and make sure they know the value that they get from this voluntary bar," said Bodden. "Whether you work at a large firm or work by yourself, you don't have to be alone. The bar is here for our members.”
Joining Bodden on the MSBA Board of Governors as officers for 2026–2027 are:
• President-Elect: Nicole Kettwick (Brandt Kettwick Defense)
• Treasurer: Sarah Soucie Eyberg (Soucie Eyberg Law LLC)
• Secretary: Brandon Vaughn (Robins Kaplan LLP).
Rounding out the Executive Committee is Madeline Gustafson (McGough Construction), who serves as chair of the New Lawyers Section.
The Minnesota State Bar Association, established in 1883, serves over 14,000 attorney and law student members. The association promotes the highest standards of excellence and inclusion within the legal profession, provides valued resources to its members, and strives to improve the law and the equal administration of justice for all.
