Join us for a CLE on the role and function of Minnesota’s District Ethics Committees (DECs). This program will provide an overview of the ethics complaint process, the responsibilities of the DECs, and their relationship with the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility (OLPR) and the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board (LPRB).
Attendees will learn:
- The structure and purpose of the DECs, including their role in investigating initial complaints of lawyer misconduct.
- How DECs collaborate with the OLPR and the LPRB in the disciplinary process.
- Key ethical obligations for lawyers and common issues that arise in professional responsibility matters.
- The importance of volunteer participation in the ethics review process.
