Summary

Environmental lawyers routinely encounter workplace health and safety issues in their practice — from site investigations and remediation oversight, to site audits to transactional due diligence and regulatory compliance — yet many lack formal grounding in core health and safety concepts. In this program, our presenter will provide attorneys with a practical introduction to occupational health and safety principles, with a focus on Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention and control, including the environmental conditions and exposures that contribute to SIF risk. Attendees will leave with a working understanding of how safety and environmental obligations intersect, and how to better serve clients navigating both regulatory frameworks.
