Summary

This presentation prepares employment law attorneys and labor law attorneys to advise their corporate clients on immigration enforcement actions, such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICA) raids, I-9 audits, and investigations done by the Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate (FDNS). We will cover Fourth Amendment protections, administrative v. judicial warrants, and obligations of employers when confronted with a DHS visit. Attendees will be given practical tips on developing response protocols, providing training to staff, protecting employee rights, and documenting enforcement activity, as well as mitigating any risks and penalties.
