Summary

The Fair Credit Report Act covers a far broader range of reports than those issued by the Big 3, Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union. In fact, the vast majority of criminal background checks, including those issued for employment and rental housing, fall under the auspices of the FCRA. This CLE will discuss cases that arise when private companies prepare and issue reports containing inaccurately published criminal records and how those cases differ from the typical consumer credit FCRA case. Some familiarity with the FCRA is helpful, but not necessary.
