Summary

Join us on Thursday, April 24th for a CLE webinar on Partition Actions. Partition actions are a critical yet often misunderstood remedy in real estate law, especially in the context of disputes concerning co-owned property. This seminar offers an overview of partition actions – as well as options to voluntarily resolve the issues without litigation – as a legal mechanism to resolve disagreements amongst co-owners. Attendees will gain insights into the legal foundations of partition, procedural steps, and strategic considerations, including: types of partition (partition in kind vs. partition by sale); key statutes and case law governing partition actions; filing procedures and jurisdictional requirements; and common defenses and counterclaims. This course is designed to help prepare for the Real Property Law Specialist Certification exam, but is also a good review for any attorney practicing in this area.
