Assisted Living contracts are critical documents that form the basis of the resident’s stay.  Assisted Living contracts are becoming more and more complex and lengthy with variations in terms that may present challenges for residents.  Also, new state laws were passed in 2025 affecting assisted living contracts.  

In this CLE, Suzanne Scheller, Counselor at Law, will go over the 2025 legislative changes to assisted living contracts, including as to arbitration provisions, termination procedures, and elderly waiver implications.  In addition, she will provide further insight on typical and atypical terms of the assisted living contract, what attorneys may want to look for when reviewing the contract, and address the process of the resident reviewing and signing the assisted living contract.
