Summary

For many attorneys, becoming a partner is viewed as the ultimate career milestone—but what does the partnership track really look like in practice, and is it the right fit for you? Join Emily Logan Stedman, partner at Husch Blackwell and host of the podcast The Grace Period, for a candid conversation about pursuing partnership while maintaining perspective, boundaries, and well-being.
Drawing on her experience in Big Law and her advocacy around lawyer mental health, Emily will discuss what it takes to pursue partnership, how expectations around time, business development, and leadership can shape your career, and how attorneys can create healthy boundaries that support both professional success and personal sustainability.
Following Emily’s presentation, she will join a panel of newer partners from small and mid-size firms to discuss how the partnership path can differ depending on firm size and structure. The conversation will be moderated by Sam Kavalier, a recently named partner at Ogden, Glazer, and Schaefer, who will guide a discussion on lessons learned, expectations versus reality, and practical advice for attorneys considering the partnership track.
