The Hennepin County Bar Association welcomes Norman Pentelovitch as the association’s 108th president. Norm's year-long term began July 1, 2026.
"I am honored to lead the HCBA at a moment when the legal profession, and the communities we live in, are looking to bar associations for leadership on the most critical issues facing our society. More than ever, bar associations are seen as apolitical, professional organizations advocating for the principles and standards of the legal profession. I look forward to continuing HCBA's leadership in this community."
For the 2026-2027 bar year, Nicholas Ryan (President-Elect), Ryan McCarthy (Secretary/Treasurer), and Jessica Klander (Past President) will serve alongside Pentelovitch on the HCBA executive committee. Austyn Boothe will serve a one-year term as New Lawyers Section representative for the committee.
For the 2026 Excellence Awards cycle, individual HCBA members can be nominated for recognition in one or more of the following categories:

1.0 Ethics CLE Credit
Join us for a CLE on the role and function of Minnesota’s District Ethics Committees (DECs). This program will provide an overview of the ethics complaint process, the responsibilities of the DECs, and their relationship with the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility (OLPR) and the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board (LPRB).
This CLE is FREE for HCBA members.
Events Spotlight
Thursday, July 23, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Capitol
Summer associates are invited to a unique program hosted in partnership with the Minnesota Supreme and Appellate Courts, offering an inside look at appellate practice and the work of Minnesota’s judiciary. Held in the Minnesota Supreme Court Chamber at the State Capitol, the event will feature remarks from judicial leaders, insights into appellate advocacy and judicial clerkships, and an opportunity for Q&A. Attendees can also network during a coffee-and-cookie social and participate in an optional Capitol tour following the program.
