Section Benefits and Activities

• Provide a forum for discussion of legal issues pertaining to animals, including but not limited to issues in the following practice areas: Tort Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Wills and Estates, and Property Law, as well as the enforcement of federal laws

• Provide opportunities for legal education

• Improve the practice and elevate the ethical standards with regard to legal services pertaining to animals

• Draft amicus briefs in important cases pertaining to Animal Law

• Initiate legislative change, subject to the approval of the Assembly

• Foster and enhance the skills of animal lawyers

• Serve as a liaison with other parts of the MSBA and the public on issues relating to animal law
