Elder Law Section

Since 1990, the Elder Law Section has supported its members in meeting the needs of the burgeoning elder population. Its membership currently includes over 500 attorneys, law students, and paralegals. In addition to addressing traditional planning needs relating to wills, trusts, taxes, and pension planning, the section unites legal professionals who address issues specific to the elder community, such as elder abuse and neglect, long-term health care planning, nursing home care, Medicare, Medical Assistance, Medicaid in Minnesota, Social Security, and other public benefits.  The section provides its members with resources to keep practitioners informed of the latest developments in elder law, to network with experienced elder law attorneys, and to serve an increasingly large and complex elder population.
