Legislative Committee members are appointed annually from members of the Assembly.
The Legislative Committee reviews legislative proposals from Sections and Committees, and makes recommendations to the MSBA Assembly. The Committee provides advice to the Council on lobbying efforts, develops grassroots activity, and oversee member communications. Sections and Committees should submit proposals through the Legislative Proposal Form

2026 lobbying priorities: The MSBA's lobbying priorities for the 2026 legislative session include passing a variety of updates to improve the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act, passing the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act, and opposing any proposals to tax legal services.
