Access to Justice Committee released new report on economic value of civil legal aid services

The Minnesota State Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee has released a new report on the economic value of civil legal aid services provided in 2023. 
 
The report, prepared by Community Services Analysis LLC, a leading national firm specializing in social return on investment, used data from 11 civil legal aid organizations across Minnesota. Analysts found that for every $1 invested in civil legal aid, Minnesota receives $4.32 in immediate and long-term financial benefits—a 432% return on investment. In total, civil legal aid activities had a net economic impact of more than $239 million statewide last year.
