Operation PARRIS Training: Equipping Pro Bono Lawyers for Revetting Interviews

Tuesday, March 3, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
1.5 Standard CLE Credits

In an unprecedented policy under Operation PARRIS, individuals with refugee status across Minnesota are being subjected to an interview to review and revet the refugee claim that underpins their safety in the U.S. as refugees. Join the International Refugee Assistance Project for a training that will give you an understanding of what content will be covered in a revetting interview, how to work with a client to best prepare for an interview, and impart practical tips and best practices to effectively represent pro bono clients.

HCBA New Lawyers Polar Plunge

Saturday, March 7, at 10:30 a.m.
Lake Nokomis Park

Join us for an opportunity to support the Special Olympics athletes across Minnesota by participating in the 2026 Polar Plunge! The Special Olympics Minnesota are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities. These donations will help Special Olympics Minnesota provide training and other services to athletes across Minnesota throughout the year.

The HCBA New Lawyers will gather at Lake Nokomis Park for the Polar Plunge. The registration is capped at 15 members, so be sure to sign up early.

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid's Annual Law Day Dinner

Thursday, April 23, at 4:30 p.m.
Minneapolis Hilton

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid will host the 45th Annual Law Day Dinner at the Minneapolis Hilton on April 23, 2026, featuring keynote speaker Neal Katyal and honoree Rick Hagstrom. The fundraiser, co-sponsored by the HCBA, starts with a reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner, a program, and a live auction.
