Earlier this year, HCBA President Jessica Klander was invited to join a Minnesota delegation in Geneva, Switzerland, for the 61st session of the United Nations’ Human Rights Council. She expected to learn about how international human rights institutions work. However, the conversations she had there made her realize how important bar associations are in protecting democracy and supporting human rights.
